Barack Obama is attempting to downplay his association with ACORN. I don't blame him, I would too. Unfortunately for Obama his ties to the so-called "low-income advocacy group" are on the record. And undeniable:
Barack Obama distanced himself Tuesday from the low-income advocacy group under fire for allegations of voter fraud, as his campaign accused Republicans of exploiting the issue for political purposes.
Obama said... wait for it...
"This isn't a situation where there's actually people who are going to try to vote because these are phony names," Obama said. "So this is another one of these distractions that gets stirred up in the course of a campaign."
Another one of these distractions. One simply cannot question The One. He and he alone will decide what matters during this election. He expects (and with the acquiescence of the media, he'll likely get his way), American voters to accept his word as final:
He said his relationship with the group is "pretty straightforward," referring to legal work he and two other lawyers did for the group in 1995.
"That was my relationship and is my relationship to ACORN," he said.
That was, and is, complete BS. Stanley Kurtz did the heavy lifting on Obama's relationship with ACORN. It's a long read but important. He concludes:
...Obama’s ties to Acorn — arguably the most politically radical large-scale activist group in the country — are wide, deep, and longstanding. If Acorn is adept at creating a non-partisan, inside-game veneer for what is in fact an intensely radical, leftist, and politically partisan reality, so is Obama himself. This is hardly a coincidence: Obama helped train Acorn’s leaders in how to play this game. For the most part, Obama seems to have favored the political-insider strategy, yet it’s clear that he knew how to play the in-your-face “direct action” game as well. And surely during his many years of close association with Acorn, Obama had to know what the group was all about.
As for ACORN's claim to be "non-partisan" check out this video at about 3:06:
And by the way, ACORN's Political Action Committee endorsed Obama for President. What a shocker.

Obama, distancing himself from all the distractions. Sounds tiring. He must be worn out. Here's a little song to cheer him up:
Makes having friends in low places sound kinda fun. Woo Hoo!!!
