Obama has had enough
"His comments were not only divisive ... but I believe that they end up giving comfort to those who prey on hate," Obama told reporters.
"Whatever relationship I had with Reverend Wright has changed as a consequence of this," Obama said.
[...]
"At a certain point if what somebody says contradicts what you believe so fundamentally and then he questions whether or not you believe it -- in front of the National Press Club -- then that's enough," Obama said, referring to Wright's suggestion that Obama's denouncement was what a politician had to say.
"That's a show of disrespect to me. It is also, I think, an insult to what we've been trying to do" on the campaign, he said.
Jeremiah Wright has been disrespecting our country for many, many years. Now that it affects him personally, Obama is insulted.
Your move Reverend.

Can we get pass this already? I mean really to give this so much attention, while our country is in economic peril, a 5 year war with no end in sight and a possible option to continue with George Bush's failed policies with John McCain. Let Jeremiah Wright do his talking. But now his 15 seconds of fame are up. Let's move on and fix this country.

I'm sure that's what Obama wants to do. But...he is running for President. His past, including his past associations, is critically important. We are not electing words and rhetoric. We are electing a person. Better to find out just who that person is NOW and NOT later, when it's too late.
As for President Bush, he has done an incredible job under very difficult circumstances. I have not always agreed with him but I truly believe he has always had the best interests of our country at heart.
Our economy is not in economic peril but will be if enough people buy into the hype. Economies are never static. There will be ups and downs but we have always managed to get through the bad times. Panic is not the answer. Each of us, as individuals, must make decisions that are appropriate to our own circumstances. I will always trust the individual to make the best decisions. At least those individuals willing to take responsibility instead of waiting for the government to bail them out of every crisis. For those unable to help themselves there are, and should always be, safety nets. Unfortunately, the government wants to spread that safety net too far and too wide. That leads to economic peril.

Still, it's a little too late for me; him FINALLY coming out and denouncing the hate-monger preacher man. I wasn't ever going to vote for him anyway so it really doesn't matter to me what the hell he (Obama) does.
