I am a "Real Alabamian"
Are you? Take Dan's test. I was born in Alabama and have lived here most of my life and according to the test I'm 70%. I got tripped up on: the tornado question (I head to the basement), I never thought the lake was the ocean, I've never learned to shoot a gun (and now that I think of it, I don't multiply so well either, that could have been a wash), to name a few of my "misses". Of course I didn't have to take the test to know the answer but since I've been asked more than once (usually by a Yankee on the telephone) if I'm from Texas I thought I'd take it anyway. I'm still disappointed, though. I should have done much better. Next time I'll study first.

I didn't even score 70%, unless the "coke" conversation was meant as a 100% fool proof indicator. I have a suspicion that the test may have been written by some second generation "damn yankee." Why else would they have left off "power saw" as another good indicator?

hehe, I'm guilty of a few of those ... including using a football schedule to plan my wedding date.

Dang! When I received this email from a couple of native Greenville, Alabama friends who are now retired from the military and live on a cattle farm in western Arkansas, and then forwarded it to more of my friends just for fun, I never thought it would appear on anyone’s blog. Everyone who gets a kick out of it owes a round of applause to Cynthia and Jim McRae.
Maybe this indicates the lack of fodder for bloggers these days?

I KNEW something was amiss when I didn't score 100!! I think those damn Yankees put a few trick questions in there. (I actually have a power saw. Don't know how to use it, but I have one). How are you and Pilgrim doing, by the way?
Nicki, I know weddings are really important, but...you've got your priorities straight! I hope everything's going great for you both. I miss seeing you! (You too, Maccus. By the way what was your score? Inquiring minds want to know).

Don,
Look what you started??!! There's no lack of "fodder" out there, but this was fun. I need more of that. Kudos to Cynthia and Jim McRae for sharing some laughter and to you for passing it along!

You sound fine to me, Julie! Although sounding like a Texan is okay, too!

I didn't do so well....

Texas is OK by me. I guess we all sound alike to foreigners...I mean Yankees!
Uh-oh Scott. You haven't spent much time in rural Alabama, have you?? Maybe you need to take a road trip and then re-take the test!

Pilgrim and I are well. And yourself?
I got between 60 and 70 on the quiz, but I forget exactlly.
I miss seeing you on thurs. as well. Are you missing any books? I moved over to Newk's in Cahaba Heights, in case anyone should want to discuss, and/or debate, the murderous pedophille's lies. Or whether they want to try to commit me?

I think the only book I'm missing is Brigitte Gabriel's. No big deal. You put our label in it so I know it's safe! Are you missing any? I HOPE I returned them all.
Where is Newk's? (And don't give anyone any ideas about committing you, OK?! I will, however defend you, whether that would help or hurt, I don't know!) I will be getting back to "normal" soon, I do hope. I'd love to meet y'all there. Tell Pilgrim I said hello.
