Fair Tax supporter to challenge Bud Cramer
For those of us still suffering the hangover from Hell Week, Flashpoint offers a ray of hope:
Big news out of North Alabama, U.S. Representative Bud Cramer (D) now has a Republican challenger for the 2008 race.
On April 17, local attorney E. Ray McKee, Jr., announced his candidacy for the 2008 election to the House of Representatives Fifth District, a seat currently held by Cramer (D-Ala.). McKee, a Republican, holds a Ph.D in electrical engineering and is recently retired from the U.S. Government. His main platform is the enactment of the Fair Tax Bill into law.
To say American taxpayers need relief from the convoluted mess that is our tax code is putting it mildly to say the least. Millions of Americans don't have to waste precious time, effort, and money to settle up with Uncle Sam every year. But many millions more do, along with every single (legitimate) employer in the country. And most of them have to pay somebody else just to figure out how much they owe. Any candidate who is dedicated to getting rid of this outrageous burden has my support. I can't vote in the Fifth District, but I can send Mr. McKee a dollar or two. And I will.
Brian at Flashpoint is going to meet with McKee and find out about the rest of his platform. He's off to a good start, I'm anxious to hear the rest.
