Scooter Libby guilty on four of five counts

Talk about obstruction of justice.  This is disgraceful.  President Bush should pardon him immediately.

By the way, when does the trial start on the CIA leak case?  Remember that Mr. Fitzgerald?

Libby faces up to 25 years in prison.  How many years did Sandy Berger get for stealing classified documents?  I forget.

***Update 2***

I heard on Fox that one of the questions the jury asked the judge was if Libby was accused of lying to Time Magazine reporter Matt Cooper.  The Judge replied it's not a crime to lie to a journalist.  Judge Andrew Napolitano said the question was indicative of "substantial confusion"  Ya think?   How about substantial stupidity?  I would really like to see some biographical info on this jury.  I hate to think Scooter Libby could spend any time in jail because of these idiots.

***Update 3***

Michelle has comments from one of the jurors, a former reporter (now that inspires confidence):

Denis Collins, one of the jurors, addresses the press. He identifies himself as a former reporter. "The primary thing that convinced us on most of the accounts was the alleged conversation with Russert...It was either false (didn't happen) or did happen...Mr. Libby was either told by or told to about Mrs. Wilson at least nine times...we believed he had a bad memory...but contradicted by testimony that he had an incredible grasp of details...even if he forgot who told him, it seemed very unlikely that he would have not remembered about Mrs. Wilson...tremendous amount of sympathy for Mr. Libby on the jury...jury asked "Where's Rove? Where's the other guys?" It seemed like he was the fall guy. (my emphasis)

So the jury wanted someone from the White House and since Libby was the one on trial, he took the fall.  Michelle's quote is from Jeralyn Merritt's blog.  It's hard to tell whether she is paraphrasing, quoting, or speculating re: the fall guy comment.  There are no quotation marks, so I'm not sure.

***Update 4***

I'm watching  juror Denis Collins' press conference on Fox.  Just my opinion, but I think this interview is a gold mine for the defense.  Not impressive.  He pretty much admitted Scooter Libby was the fall guy.  One of the Fox ladies thinks this will counter some of the earlier evaluations that the jury was confused.  I think it confirms it.

I've already emailed my Senators to urge them to urge President Bush to pardon Libby.  For what good it will do, I hope everyone who agrees will do the same.

***Update 5***

Mark Levin:

This morning the jury didn't understand two of the counts. Yesterday it didn't understand what was meant by reasonable doubt. Let me suggest that in the end it still didn't understand the two counts or reasonable doubt.

Yes, lying before a grand jury is a crime. So, too, is lying on the witness stand. When can we expect some of the government's witnesses to face the music?
