Our first Alabama bloggers meet up was last night in Huntsville. It was great, but I should have talked less and listened more! We do have some knowledgeable and talented folks in 'Bama.
Many thanks to C.A. Marks of Alabama Improper for setting it up. Sniper One of 7.62MM Justice was there, with camera (oh dear). I also got to meet Brian of Flashpoint and Maccus Germanis of Indelible Infidel Ink, another Birmingham area blogger.
The timing of the meeting, coming one day after our legislators in Montgomery voted themselves a 62% pay raise, gave us a great topic to
bitch talk about. The more colorful state congressman Sniper One mentioned in his post is John Rogers who represents the 52nd District, which includes part of Birmingham. He is a piece of work. I wish I could find audio of his rantings to post, assuming I could figure out how to post it.
Brian of Flashpoint is working on something I think will be a great resource for our state. It will be a "one stop" source for information on what's happening in Montgomery. We really, really need this. He and Maccus are more Libertarian and that's the kind of "diversity" that's actually helpful.
C.A. Marks is way cool, just like her blog. And I was glad to meet Sniper One since I was unable to go to Washington for the Gathering of Eagles.
I thoroughly enjoyed the meeting, it was well worth the trip from (just south of) Birmingham, and I'm looking forward to the next one.
Also, thanks to Jane for "introducing" me to Alabama Improper and Sniper One.
