I can't find the video or a transcript of Democratic strategist Julie Roginsky's appearance last night on the O'Reilly Factor (Michelle Malkin was sitting in for Bill), but the topic was the Democrat(ic) non-binding resolution against President Bush. Roginsky was referring to a poll that said over 60% of Americans wanted the U.S. out of Iraq. She said it was arrogant to assume the American people do not realize the consequences of such a move. She trusts the American people are well informed enough to influence the direction of the war. Maybe so, maybe not.
In a USA Today poll this little tid-bit appeared that might cast doubt on Roginsky's (convenient) faith in the wisdom of the American public, or at least the ones participating in never-ceasing polls:
Seven of 10 say their representative's vote on the war will affect their vote in the next congressional election; more than four in 10 call it a major factor. However, nearly two-thirds aren't sure where their representative stands on the issue.
Yes, there are some real geniuses out there and a few in Congress as well. Here's one, Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-CA). (In the Bullpen has the video, h/t Right Truth)
I've been working to bring our troops home since before we sent them there.
Say what? You just can't make this stuff up.
It's hard, I would imagine, to defend such idiocy with a straight face. I hope Ms. Roginsky gets paid well to do it.

It really is sad that we end up with politicians representing us, you use statements like that. Retarded.

Hudson County was one place where Roginsky was the press secretary for a losing legislative political campaign, where she told a reporter that her opponent was "a scumbag". After that statement which never saw the light of day, but received a phone call from the reporter who called the 22 year incumbent about his press secretary's stupid statement saw Roginsky quickly fired from the campaign in 2003)
A Hudson County pundit put her qualifications as this - "Roginsky is one BJ away from her next political job!"
Enough said

She sounds like a perfect spokesperson for the Democratic party.
