Give thanks we live in America
What should American journalists be thankful for? Michelle knows and helpfully provides a list. For example:
Give thanks we don't live in Bangladesh, where you can be put on trial for writing columns supporting Israel and condemning Muslim violence.
Give thanks we don't live in Egypt, where bloggers have been detained by the government for criticizing Islam and exposing the apathy of Cairo police to sexual harassment of women.
Give thanks we don't live in Sudan, where editors can lose their heads for not kowtowing to the government line.
And there are many others. Follow the links at Michelle's post to see the horrors journalists and citizens face in their own countries for daring to speak out.
On September 11, 2001, Americans were attacked by terrorists who crashed airplanes into buildings in the name of Allah. We were in shock but we stood tall together and faced it. But today many in our country, especially in the mainstream media, act as though 9/11 never happened. Classified government documents are splashed across the front pages of our major newspapers. So called civil rights groups set the rules for our law enforcement to follow and hell to pay if they don't. We have representatives in Congress who put the sacred cow of diversity before our national security. And it goes on and on.
I posted yesterday about the six imams carried off the airplane in Minneapolis. And of course CAIR "springs into action" (h/t Charles) to denounce the incident and call for a Congressional investigation:
The incident prompted the Council on American-Islamic Relations and officials for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in Washington to call Tuesday for Congressional hearings on racial profiling and an investigation by the Justice Department and the Transportation Security Administration.
And as sure as the sun rises in the East, Congress will comply. CAIR operates freely in our country. They claim to be on our side in the War on Terror. They demand Americans be sensitive to Muslims, but for some reason Muslims don't need to be sensitive to Americans, notwithstanding that all 19 hijackers were Muslims living in this country. Americans must submit.
Muslims in America should be thankful too. They are living in the greatest country on earth. But how do they show their thanks? By instigating mayhem. It's time Americans took our country back. We must not submit.
